inspired by Homeric Hymns

Of receptionist and assistant, daughter of Zeus, I sing,

Who greets all guests, corporeal and non,

In her kingdom of meetings rooms and lobby,

Apathetic, she was spawned through over education,

Fed diet rich of words and art,

This daughter of Zeus, daughter of daughters yearns to be free,

To trade a desk of papers for a higher seat,

Till then, this nymph must patient be,

And haunt the bureaucratic halls in jeans and tee,

Farewell to you daughter of high jinx, lost calls and expense reports.

That’s fantastic! I wish you were doing Roman Lit…we’re looking at modern translations of an Ode of Horace’s. With your poetic flare it’d really light up the seminar.
